چکیده

Abstract Background Spinal injuries are present in 16–31% of polytraumatized patients. Rapid identification spinal requiring immobilization or operative treatment is essential. The Lodox-Statscan (LS) has evolved into a promising time-saving diagnostic tool to diagnose life-threatening with an anterior-posterior (AP)-full-body digital X-ray. Methods We aimed analyze the accuracy and interrater reliability AP-LS detect Therefore, within 3 years, patients (ISS ≥ 16) were retrospectively analyzed by three independent observers. sensitivity specificity correct diagnosis compared CT scan calculated. was evaluated using area under ROC (receiver operating characteristic curve) for specificity. Biplanar Full-Body X-Ray Imaging

A new biplanar x-ray imaging system acquires simultaneous lateral and anteroposterior images while the patient is in a weight-bearing position The imaging system uses novel slot-scanning technology that can acquire simultaneous orthogonal whole-body images at a fraction of the radiation dose of standard x-rays Indications include pathologies that change under load: Spinal problems such as scoli...

Doses Received by Patients during Thorax X-Ray Examinations

Introduction Radiation exposures from diagnostic medical examinations are generally low and are almost always justified by the benefits of accurate diagnosis of possible disease conditions. Therefore, entrance skin dose (ESD), body organ dose (BOD), and effective dose (ED) from adult patients undergoing routine thorax posterior-anterior (PA) and thorax right lateral (RLAT) were estimated in Uni...

Cervical spinal injuries in moderate to severe head injuries.

BACKGROUND Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) is the leading cause of death in all age group. The incidence of CSI increases with the severity of TBI so prompt care of cervical spine is necessary in all patients with moderate to severe head injury. The objective of this study was to determine the frequency of cervical injury in patients with moderate to severe head injury and different types of traum...

X-ray scattering in full-field digital mammography.

Effects of x-ray scattering on full-field digital mammography are analyzed with the scattering model of Seibert and Boone [Med. Phys. 15, 567-575 (1988)]. A new method is introduced for the estimation of model parameters from measurements. It is shown that with breasts thinner than a certain threshold, removing the anti-scatter grid leads to an improved contrast-to-noise ratio with a smaller pa...

[Optimization of X-ray conditions for full spine X-ray examinations in slot-scan digital radiography].

The purpose of this study was to optimize X-ray conditions for full spine X-ray examinations in slot-scan digital radiography (SSDR). Follow-up of spinal deformities, such as scoliosis, typically involves many radiographs of the patient throughout childhood and adolescence. The Radiation doses for the full spine X-ray examination should be minimized. Recently, SSDR has been introduced for full ...
